Communications Software Engineer

Description:

Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the development of software for use in
Broadband Wireless Networking equipment. This role requires a strong background in Systems
software design, documentation and implementation.

Architect, design and deliver system software after specification of platform requirements.
Demonstrate a high degree of originality and innovation in defining product and project level
architecture. Significantly influences the design of interfaces between products to ensure
interoperability. Resolve design issues. Define new software product features. Develop large
portions of software independently and rapidly. Champion new improved design methodologies.

Define Reliability, Availability, Serviceability (RAS) goals for products.

Skills:

The candidate must show extensive development experience using ‘C’ under Linux for driver
development, networking and communications systems.

Ability to apply extensive experience as a networking specialist. Requires experience with Layer 2 and 3 communications including the implementation and use of common Internet protocols, networking products and their interaction with underlying hardware. Understand Broadband Wireless market requirements.

Ability to resolves conflicts by fostering team communications. To takes ownership for initiatives and code facets, and then drive ongoing evaluation and success. Work with team and customers on issue resolution. Applies high degree of ingenuity using available information and knowledge to make decisions. Additional consideration will be give to candidates who have a demonstrated working knowledge of; Wireless communications systems including IEEE 802.16a and IEEE 802.11x implementation and architecture; RADIUS, 802.1x and other authentication schemes.

Education:

Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-7 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS
combined with 7-10+ Years related experience.

Must be eligible for work in the USA, Citizen, Permanent Resident, or H1B.
