Senior Technical Writer

Description

Technical Writer needed to work directly with engineering and product management to
take product specifications and turn them into customer-read product manuals, external
facing web documents, and other technical documents. The writer will be responsible for
all aspects of documentation projects, from analyzing user needs and preparing
documentation to obtaining approvals of documentation plans through final production.

Education

Successful candidate must have BA in English or related discipline or a certificate in
technical writing.

Skills

Successful candidate must:

• have five years experience writing technical documentation in networking environment, including experience with IP protocol;
  
• have extensive networking knowledge including the following: routing protocols, VoIP, Virtual Private Networks, network security, and 802.11 wireless;
  
• be able to plan and write documentation with minimal supervision;
• have a detailed knowledge of the documentation process from design to commercial release;
• have strong documentation project management skills to be able to schedule documentation, communicate risks and dependencies, and provide project status to management and other members of product development team as needed;
• have excellent application knowledge and awareness of business issues and how they impact overall project plans;be highly motivated team player who can analyze and synthesize complex technology.
  

Desired Qualifications

Additional consideration will be give to candidates who have a demonstrated working
knowledge of Wireless communications systems including IEEE 802.16a and IEEE
802.11x implementation and architecture, and 802.1x.

The successful candidate will have experience with wireless applications and technology;
be a self-starter with strong research, communications, writing, and editing skills; be well
organized with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills; and have previous
experience working in a start-up environment.

information and knowledge to make decisions; will demonstrates leadership and establish

Copies of writing samples must be provided for review at the time of interviewing
